Kiosko is located in Vermont, the Green Mountain State and we take our commitment to the environment very seriously.
Reduction is Key-
Reducing our company's carbon emissions (carbon footprint) is the foundation of our environmental stewardship. Kiosko has systematically invested-in and expanded our internal capabilities (metal fabrication, thermoforming, graphics development etc.) which dramatically reduces in-bound freight and the associated pollutants from external suppliers.
Additionally, Kiosko endeavors to always ship freight on "full-trucks". Our logistics division works as a liaison between the client, landlord and freight companies to eliminate empty space on all outbound trucks. This extra effort reduces both the freight cost to our clients and the amount of miles that our trucks will travel.
Kiosko reduces waste and has been a major recycler of scrap and waste for years. In addition to strict office-recycling protocols and post-consumer content purchases, Kiosko adopted a heating program early in our existence that turns waste-lumber into fuel to heat our plant floor. Currently, 100% of our waste goes into producing electricity avoiding the landfills.
Green Products-
Increasingly our clients and customers are demanding "green fixtures". Kiosko is able to utilize low VOC application finishing methods, board materials with no formaldehyde, and hardwoods from managed forests. These products and procedures demand a premium price and in some instances may lack the stability of more traditional building technologies. For these reasons, Kiosko has not adopted a 100% green approach but can and will consult with clients on the option that is best for them.
